Taxonomy of Terms / VII. Resistance and world-making
CNS term. Defined on this site.
Shared proximity without social demand. People work, read, craft or stim in the same space, and the relationship is sustained by ambient awareness rather than conversation. The term recovers parallel play from its status as a developmental stage and treats it as a mature form of companionship, one that asks for no affective performance and so reduces the load of masking.
