Books
Critical Neurodivergent Studies
Under contract, Vernon Press
The monograph that sets out the framework. It argues that neurotypicality is an unmarked norm built into institutional and cultural architecture, and that neurodivergence is both a structurally produced position and a generative way of knowing, with aesthetic, sensory and ethical dimensions of its own. Three parts, ten chapters.
Monster Time
In development, co-authored
A study of monsters, the freak show and the arena in children’s literature and media, and of the temporality the monstrous child keeps against endings that demand cure or a return to normal.
Littorascene: Reading the Australian Intertidal
Proposed
A monograph on the intertidal zone and the rock pool as a scene of neurodivergent attention, extending the term first elaborated in work on coastal girlhood in Australian young adult fiction.
