Taxonomy of Terms / The organising framework
CNS term. Defined on this site.
The framework that organises CNS. It reads neuronormativity across four linked registers. The hegemonic engine describes how a historically contingent cognitive-affective baseline is naturalised through diagnostic, legal and carceral institutions, and how capital sorts neurodivergent people into those who can be extracted from and those who are contained. The intersectional matrix theorises triple masking and the burnout it produces. Somato-aesthetics reframes stimming, monotropic attention and sensory permeability as modes of perception with formal signatures of their own. Counter-hegemonic epistemology describes neurokinship. The four are read together, because the features institutions pathologise are the same features neurodivergent communities recognise, make art from and organise around.
